I saw the news in the Star newspaper yesterday. And the minute I saw it.. seriously, my heart was pumping so fast.. I couldn't believe that time actually passed so quickly! Just about roughly 5 months ago I couldn't wait to get my STPM result and on the 11th of March, I finally got it. Then, I was hoping to get at least one of the scholarship (which I've sent 5 of them in early April) and just about a few weeks ago I got a letter from Kuok Foundation for interview. And NOW.. I'm going to face one of the most important moment in my life which will determine my future... Whether I'm able to pursue my studies in the public university of my choice or not is depend to the result that I will obtain.

If I tell you that I'm not nervous, I must be lying. Coz it has been more than 2 YEARS I've waited for this to come. To say the truth-ler, actually I'm not keen in studying Form 6 last time. It was merely just a bet with my dad that if I get 8As in my SPM, I can choose my own path (which is studying in private college) or else I will have to listen to my dad to study F6 due to some financial constraints. But well, there's a blessing in disguise I guess.. coz if I REALLY got 8As in SPM, I would have never taste the bitter-sweet experience as a school uniformed student for the very LAST time and I shall never get a satisfactory STPM result, neither that I will actually being shorlisted for an interview with Kuok Foundation. And of course, I will NEVER get a chance of studying in public uni and called myself.. a "Mahasiswi".

From the very 1st day I studied F6, I've been aiming to get into Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). I used to be a science stream student when I was in F5 but I switched to arts when I realised that the purpose I studied F6 was to actually get into public uni. So, as I know that I wouldn't get a satisfactory result in science stream (coz I know it is extremely hard especially for an average student), I decided to switched. After all, as long as I can get into public uni then okay already-lah. Don't care what stream-lah! Therefore as I switched my stream, I have to switch the course that I wanted to study too (in public uni). So, I decided to choose Mass Communication as my first choice as I kinda interested with this subject and I could see a bright prospect in it.

As USM is the pioneer for this course in Malaysia, I decided to aim for it. Furthermore, you get to have both major and minor when you study there. Lets say, if I majoring in mass comm, I can have a minor in management (or any other courses) or vice-versa. Same goes to science student. If you major in Science subject, you can actually minor in other arts subject as well. So, is it kinda alluring to you now..? (this information is based on the pamphlet I received when I went to various educational fairs)


Ohhh..!!! How I REALLY hope that I will get what I've been aiming all this while!
