What's your hairstyle?

I've came across this interesting article about woman's hairstyle and thought that it'll be nice to share it with you guys. ^^

WHAT HAIR SUITS MY FACE?

Even though you may love the latest celebrity hair style, it might not be the right hair style for your face. The shape of your face and the proportions of your features will help tell you what hairstyle is best suited to you.

  • Oval-shaped face => You're lucky - this is the kind of face shape that suits just about any hairstyle. Both long and short hair cuts look great on you, as your face shape is well balanced. The chin and forehead of an oval face shape are in even proportion.Avoid covering up your perfect face shape with heavy bangs or wearing your hair on your face. You'll lose your face shape and it may add weight to your face.

  • Round face => Hairstyles with fullness and height at the crown will give the impression of a narrower face. Try a cut with layers while keeping the sides close to your face to make your face appear longer. Round faces suit either short hairstyles swept back from your forehead, or hairstyles that are longer than chin length. Wispy fringes and side parts are also good. Avoid chin length hair, center parts, fullness at the sides of ears, straight "chopped bangs - these wll all emphasise the shape of your face.

  • Heart-shaped face => The heart shaped face is widest at the temples and narrowest at the chin, which can appear pointy. Short hair and chin length hair often looks great on this face shape, as the fullness can even out the jaw and chin lines. Chin length bobs, short shags, swept forward layers and wispy bangs all work well.Avoid full styles that emphasise the upper face without balancing out your narrow chin. Too much height at the crown and tapered necklines will make you look top heavy.

  • Rectangular, Long face => If your face is long and slender, with your forehead and below cheeks about the same width, hairstyles that balance out the length of your face work best for you. These include short to medium lengths with fullness at the sides and soft wispy bangs. This will shorten the length and add width to your face. Layered styles work well and add softness to the straight lines of your face.Avoid too much length, it will only make your face look longer. Too much height will also lengthen your face.

  • Square face => If your face is square, with a strong, square jaw line and often an equally square hairline, the right hairstyles for you are ones that soften the square look of your face. Short to medium length hair cuts, with soft wispy bangs and a wave or curl will compliment and balance out your straight face shape. If you hair is straight, maybe consider a body wave. Side parts and fullness/height at the crown can add length to your square face shape.Avoid straight styles - long straight hair, blunt bangs, straight bobs and center parts, as they will emphasise your square jawline.

  • Triangle face => If you face is triangle, with a wider chin that narrows at the forehead, you want to stick to styles that narrow your chin and widen the forehead. This will balance out your features. Shorter hair can often balance our your prominent jaw line, as well as styles that are full at the temples that taper at the jaw. Off center parts, wedges and shags are also good styles for you. Lots of layers will give you the fullness through the upper part of your face.Avoid Styles that are full at the jawline and center parts.

  • Full forehead, long chin => If your forehead is large and your chin long, it can help to add volume below the chin line to balance it out. A thick layered cut or mid-length bob will add fullness where it's needed. Bangs can also reduce the look of a full forehead.

  • Large features => Full hair can help downplay a large nose or other feature and can help balance out large features. Straight hair, parted down the middle or a long, heavy fringe will make a larger nose seem even more prominent. Subtle highlights in your hair can help by drawing the eye towards the hair and away from the face.

  • Long or short neck => A long, graceful neck is a beautiful and desirable feature and should be shown off and considered when choosing a hairstyle. Short hair can really show off your neck, however long hair can also add to your already graceful neck when worn in an elegant style, like a twist or updo.If you want a short hairstyle and your neck is short, create the appearance of length by tapering your hair at the base of the neck and fuller on top.

WHAT IS MY FACE SHAPE?

It's hard to be objective about your own face shape, but here's a sure fire way to be sure your not biasing your own analysis. Hair designers are the ultimate judges of your face shape, but if you need a little help try this experiment.
There are lots of suggestions on how to figure out your shape, from outlining your face shape on a mirror with lipstick to draping it with a towel and asking others to help you guess the shape. But, there is actually a scientific way to determine your face shape once and for all.
To find out the shape of your face, measure it with a tape measure or ruler. You will take the following measurements.

1. Measure your face across the top of your cheekbones. Write down the measurement on a piece of paper.

2. Measure across your jaw line from the widest point to the widest point. Write down the measurement.

3. Measure across your forehead at the widest point. Generally the widest point will be somewhere about halfway between your eyebrows and your hairline. Write down the measurement.

4. Measure from the tip of your hairline to the bottom of your chin.

Oval Face

Length equal to one and a half times width. Forehead is wider than the chin. Prominent Cheekbones. Face gracefully tapers to a narrow oval chin.

Round Face

Your face is as wide as it is long. This may vary a little but generally the measurement is close. Face is widest at the cheeks.

Oblong

Longer than it is wide. Forehead, cheekbones and jawline are all about the same width. Can tend to have a prominent chin. Has an elongated appearance.

Heart

Narrow at jaw line, wide at cheekbones/and or forehead. Similar to oval, but the chin tapers to a point.

Square

Your face is about as wide as it is long. Forehead, cheekbones and jawline all about the same width. Squared jawline is the most obvious feature.

Diamond

Widest at cheekbones, narrow forehead and jaw line of approximately equal widths.

Triangle

Reverse of the heart-shape. A dominant jaw line with narrowing at the cheek bone, temples and forehead.

Smart Consumer (Chapter 2 - Final Chapter)

Seeing such silly mistakes that shouldn't have been done by such a big company, my dad (who always fight for consumer rights) make a call to the Carrefour headquarters to lodge a complaint. As for me, I wrote a complaint in a form at the Comment & Suggestion box which is provided at the hypermarket. The complaint I've wrote sounds like this...

"Harga yang dipaparkan pada papan tanda harga produk adalah tidak sama dengan harga yang dipaparkan pada risalah sesuatu produk itu. Ini akan mengelirukan para pengguna. Sila beri perhatian terhadap masalah ini.
Please improve your service!!!"

How can they do such careless mistakes? And I'm sure it's not the first time already. What if people come all the way just to buy a certain product at a promotional price and at the end knowing that it's just a STUPID mistake on the price printed on the leaflet? And they've wasted their time and petrol for THIS?!! Anyone who is sane will definitely furious! XO

Don't they have anyone in charge of rechecking the leaflet before it is printed out and distributed to the household area? And they should have stick the statement of error near the items that have price mistake (like the Stabilo pens that I've mentioned in Chapter 1) rather than sticking it on the notice board that no one will ever bother to see! Or at least, they should've inform all the storekeepers who in charge of that particular area about the mistakes that they've made and pay attention on it! (even the storekeeper doesn't know that there's a price mistake on the Stabilo pens.. how pathetic..!)

As for the wrong price tag which was hanging above Anlene products... Don't they have anyone who is in charge of that area (let say, milk powder area) to check the price tag (whether it is written correctly or not) and stock availability? Or maybe.. these people are actually taking their sweet time, hanging around doing nothing?

Although we can say that these are just some careless mistakes but these mistakes are actually indirectly "cheating" the customers! Because people usually come to such hypermarkets to buy alot of things and if they doesn't know the price mistake for 1 or 2 product(s), they might have just pay and go, until when they finally realize it once they get back home (to check the whole list of the receipt), it's already too late.

I know many people will never bother about it and even if they do, they will not do anything about it coz to them it's a waste of time and it is like what? We rugi only few ringgit-mah! Haiya.. never mind-lah! Yes. This is a normal perception among our fellow Malaysians. BUT if this happens in foreign countries, the consumer will sue the company if they feel their rights are being exploited. And yes. It really happens. Heard of big companies like McD or KFC being sued? Now you know...

Well, of course I'm not pointing all faults at Carrefour only. Even other hypermarkets like Giant did the same thing too through my experience. But just too bad-lah.. Why did this thing happen just after a few days I started my blog?As you guys know, I gotta have something to write on!! ^0^

Anyway, here's a few tips for you guys out there when you wanna shop at the hypermarkets :-
  • Firstly, look carefully at each products on the leaflet you received that you want to purchase and try to remember the price printed on it if you can. (eg: price (very important), the number of items in a set, kg, types etc.)

  • Bring the leaflet together with you when you go to the hypermarket or take them from the hypermarket itself (usually you'll get it at the entrance) for reference.

  • Make it a habit to always check the prices at the "price checking machine" expecially for the promotional items because it is the most reliable and accurate source of information (to check whether the price is written correctly on the price tag or not).

  • Finally, briefly check your receipt (which lists down all the items you've bought) before you went home.

*If there's any additional information or tips that I've left out, or perhaps something that you guys wanna share (like your similar experience with this one or your personal opinion), do leave me a comment ya! TQ! ^^

As a conclusion, we must start to learn to become a smart consumer from now onwards! Ignorance will only cause the irresponsible people to exploit us even MORE! Let us all work together to fight for our rights!!! >0<

Be A Smart Consumer! ^^

Haha..!! I've missed out one more thing. After my dad complained to the HQ, we've got to buy 2 sets of Stabilo Point Pen 88 for RM6.90!!! Yes! It's the price that they've printed wrongly on the leaflet! Ahh..! How niceee..!! >0<

So, isn't it good to complain..? ;-)

*~ The End ~*

Smart Consumer (Chapter 1)

Are you a smart consumer?

Oh well.. let me tell you this story...

Last Friday, daddy, mummy and me went to Carrefour to buy some stuffs and I had only one thing to buy in my mind - Stabilo Point Pen 88 (per pack of 10's). Why did I wanna buy this thing? Well, the usual price for this item was actually around RM14 - RM16 for 10 different colours of point pens but then it came up with a promotional price of only RM6.90!!! Now.. attractive or not? XD

Below is the Carrefour leaflet to prove this...

*The red circle indicates the item that I wanted to buy

However when we went to take it at the stationary area, we saw the tag price was RM14.90! So we went to check the price at the "price checking machine" (I dunno what it called as) and it also stated there "RM14.90". Therefore, we decided to ask a store assistant who is in charge of that area.

The store assistant told us that since it was the first day for the promotion to start, they haven't change the price tag yet, so what we can do (according to her) was to pay the original price first at the cashier, and then go to the information counter to claim back our change.

Being a wise person, of course my dad didn't do what the store assistant told us to do! What if we can't claim back our money at the info counter?! So we decided to ask the people in the info counter whether we really can claim back or not.. And guess what those people said to us? They said there were actually some minor mistake on the leaflet we received - the price for the Stabilo pens set was not RM6.90 as printed but was actually RM14.90. In another words, they've printed wrongly already... =,=

They even showed us a black and white statement with the item picture to prove their words. It was even sticked to a notice board in the hypermarket. At that very moment, we were so furious! How on earth they think people can actually read the statement of error which was only printed on a small A4 sized paper?! Are they nuts?! And I don't think there are many of us who will actually look at the hypermarket's notice board. People who come there are usually those who wanna buy stuffs at a cheaper price after they received the leaflet at their house. So there's no point looking at the notice board! You think we so "senang" kah?!

And this was not the only mistake they've made. Please take a look at the next leaflet below...

*The red circle indicates the item that has an error

There's two types of Anlene - Anlene Gold and Anlene Regular (both 1.2kg). Anlene Regular costs RM30.79 as stated above (I mean the leaflet) while Anlene Gold costs slightly higher which is RM32.99. However, the BIG price tag which is hanging GRACEFULLY above the area where they put all the items at was RM30.99!!! It's a total absurd! Wanna say it's the price for Anlene Gold also not.. wanna say it's the price for Anlene regular also not.. then what price is that?!

The worst part was that both Anlene Regular and Anlene Gold were being put together at the SAME place with the BIG price tag RM30.99 hanging above!!! (be reminded that Anlene Gold costs RM32.99) A normal person who look upon such attractive price (for those who usually buy Anlene Gold) will definitely buy it without knowing that there's actually a mistake on the price tag! (we went to check both Anlene prices at the "price checking machine" already and it really stated there RM30.79 and RM32.99 respectively)

Oh my goodness! I'm sure these are not the only mistakes that they've made. If we really go to the hypermarket and check the items one by one, I think there'll be plenty more items to be questioned. But obviously no one will actually have the time to do that! Will you? >_<

And the winner goes to...

David Cook!

The American Idol Season 7 has just ended this week's Wednesday but I've just finished watching it yesterday night on 8TV. So how do you guys think about the winner - David Cook?

Well to me.. I prefer David Archuleta (left pic) coz he has the most mesmerizing voice I've ever heard from a 17 year old guy and hey.. he's cute! >0<
But indeed, I have to admit that the songs that he sang throughout the whole season of A.I was quiet the same.. (most of them are slow songs..) So perhaps because of this reason, the Americans voted Cook who known for his rock songs as the new A.I. Anyway, although Archie didn't win the competition, I'm sure there are alot of recording companies who want him.. plus he still so young! There's a bright future for him ahead! You go, boy! ^0^

As for Cook, my first impression on him was.. his style is a bit like Chris Daughtry! (4th place finalist on the 5th season of A.I) Maybe this is because both of them are rockers, I supposed. But if you guys noticed.. their name have both C and D alphabets! David Cook (DC) and Chris Daughtry (CD).. o.O lols! I hope one day they gonna produce a song sung by both of them together. It'll gonna be great! ; )

But whatever it is, I'm sure.. to all the Americans and the world.. Cook or Archuleta - BOTH ARE WINNERS.

I guess that's why both of them have the same first name - David! ^^

How can you predict? (Chapter 3 - Final Chapter)

Dear Bloggie,

Dying of old age is definitely everyone's wish. Dying without any serious illnesses, regrets nor worries with all our beloveds (children, grandchildren and if you are lucky enough, even greatgrandchildren) beside us is truly a wonderful thing. But.. How Can You Predict?

So whatever it is, lets just live our day as if it's our last and always be thankful for what we have in our life. Cherish our love one's while we can. And most importantly, Live Our Life to the Fullest! ^0^

Oh ya, there's something I forgotten to tell...

Just about 15-20 minutes before my grandma passed away, there's a phone call from my teacher. She told me that I've just emerged as a champion in an essay competition (hold by The Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities) which I've participated last year and the prize was a RM1000 cheque!!! (I know it might seem common to many people but to me, this was the first time I got a 4 digits for a prize!!!) Woohoo!!! >0<

Although it might be just a matter of coincidence (Again?), but somewhere in my heart felt that it was a blessing from my late grandma. So I decided not to spend the $$ but to save it for my educational expenses since my grandma put a very importance in my education. I remember a few days before she passed away, she said to me, "Ai jip dua ook liao" ("Going to get into university already" in Hokkien dialect) in a soft and weak voice. This mean that she still care even until the very last moment of her life.. Thank You, MaMa...

Well, I guess my bloggie title for this 3 chapters does serve its purpose huh? It's indeed very true that we can never predict what will happen in the future (unless you are an astrologist or "tukang tilik"-lah). Like how am I going to know that the poster that came off from the wall in my bedroom all of a sudden was actually a sign to tell me that something unexpected is going to happen? How am I going to know that we (me and my family) will have breakdowns on our way to visit my late grandma? And how will I ever know that this trip will be the last time i get to see my grandma? Finally, how on earth I'm going to know that I will have two sudden surprises at the same moment.. both happy and sad..? And if you guys notice, my grandma passed away on a very special day... 16th of May.. which is our Teachers' Day! (I will definitely remember this day..)

Now, talking about predictions! ;-)

*~ The End ~*

How can you predict? (Chapter 2)

Dear Bloggie,

I've spent the rest of my stay in Penang taking care of my sick grandma together with my mum (my bro went back KL coz he need to work while my dad went to repair our car). Throughout my days in the hospital taking care of my grandma, I've managed to get to know some patients who stay in the same ward as my grandma's (my grandma stayed in a 4 bedded room). They were very nice people. There was an auntie who slept opposite to my grandma's bed whom I often chatted with whenever we felt boring. And I remember there's a sweet smiling Poh Poh who slept just next to my grandma's bed. I love her smile. So sincere and kind. ^^ And I wonder if one day when i grow old, will I become a Poh Poh that all children like to be with? ^^

On the 15th of May (morning), we (dad, mum and me) decided to went back KL since my grandma seems to look slightly better already. Furthermore, my dad need to pay his roadtax on the 16th of May (which is the dateline for payment) so we must get back home by that day. However just as we going to head towards KL, a call came. My grandma was in a serious condition! So we "patah balik" and rushed back to the hospital. Now, my grandma needs an oxygen mask to help her breathing already. I felt sad for her...

As my dad need to pay his roadtax on time (he had some documents at home which were very important for roadtax payment), he need to rushed back KL to get it so that he could see my grandma for the last time, together with my bro who was still working in KL. He rushed back home by express bus at about 3 something in the evening and manage to come to Penang again together with my bro at 6 something the next morning to see my grandma. And yes. They didn't slept for more than 24 hours already. Anyway, I'm very thankful that both my dad and bro manage to see my grandma for the very last time. Indeed, God has answered my prayers.

After seeing my grandma, my dad went to settle his roadtax with all the documents he brought from KL while my bro went to my relative's house to get some sleep. All my other relatives have also gone home after seeing my grandma, leaving my mum, auntie and me in the hospital. Well, I guess things really are unpredictable like what I've mentioned before in Chapter 1. When you thought you are not the one, it finally turns out to be YOU... Don't understand? Continue reading...

At 10.40 a.m; on the 16th of May 2008, my grandma passed away peacefully and the last people she saw was my mum, auntie and ME. I've never ever thought that I'll be one of the last person she gonna see before she breathe her last breath. This was the first time I saw a person passed away in front of my very own eyes. It was very sad and sorrowful... T_T (at that moment.. I was thinking.. wouldn't it be great if everyone can live forever and never get old? so that nobody will ever grieve nor sad but just live happily together forever...)

However, I'm glad that this had finally end her sufferings. In fact, I was actually very amazed with my late grandma because being a 90 years old woman, her mind was still active and even able to recognise us, though it takes time. The only thing was that her body couldn't take it any longer so she decided to leave this wonderful place, called World...

We gonna miss you, MaMa... May you rest in peace...

How can you predict? (Chapter 1)

Dear Bloggie,

What I'm going to tell now is something that had happen last week. Something that is so unpredictable and will always in my memory.. Here it goes..

On the 9th of May, I've found several part time jobs offer and quiet looking forward towards it as I can earn some $$ before pursuing my studies in public uni later in July. However on the next morning (10th of May), I've got a news from my relatives in Penang that my grandma was very sick.

And the weird thing is.. once i heard the news, my favourite Sammi Cheng poster came off from the wall in my bedroom! (i just woke up that time)
Well, I knew it was just a coincidence (stick too long already of course will come out-lah once it lose its stickiness) but somehow.. somewhere in my heart just felt didn't right...

Then at around 6 something in the evening after my dad went out for car service and waiting my bro to come back home from work, we rushed to Penang. The journey was fine until we reached to the middle of the journey.. our car broke down! There were smokes coming out from the back wheel. And so we went to find a mechanic and as it was already night time, we kena "sembelih" cukup-cukup. Aih... >0<

Okay, never mind.. then we continued our journey. I thought everything was going to be alright until... our car broke down again!!! Oh no!!! And this time our car broke down on the roadside of the highway! The vehicles on the highway were moving VERY fast. We could even feel the ground shaking when a big truck or bus passing us. And that's really kinda scary... So we called 999 since it's already 2.am in the morning and everybody was sleeping.

After a few minutes waiting for help to come, two good policemen came to our aid. They led us to the nearest toll rest area and we managed to park our car there. We tried to give some money to the policemen for their help as a sign of gratitude and appreciation but they refused. They were willing to help without anything in return. I guess not all policemen in our country who likes "duit kopi" (only some of them.. XD) Well, this was the first time I've experienced sleeping overnight by the roadside.. Haha..

Anyway, my mum, bro and me manage to stay in an inn near a town area after we got some help from a good samaritan who willing to fetch us there. So we catch some 2 hours sleep while my poor dad still at the toll area, guarding our precious "sick" car..

Later in the morning, knowing that we have no other choice left, we went to Penang by taxi (just about 25km away from our car) after my dad manage to wait a tow truck to tow our car to the nearest car repair shop. So the first thing was to went to the hospital to see my sick grandma.

Haih.. poor mummy.. her Mother's Day (11th of May - Sunday) just ended like that...

Anyway, I decided to try out since there are so many of my friends who already have their own personalised bloggie. Ahh.. how nice..! >0< So guys! Do gimme support ya!

All the best to me in engaging to the New World of Blogging!!! ^^
