Bon Odori @ Penang

Dear Bloggie,

On the 18th July 2009, I went to a Japanese cultural celebration with my friends at Esplanade, Penang. It is called as Bon Odori. This night event which is held yearly is celebrated as a reminder of the gratefulness one should feel toward one's ancestors. The celebration in Penang was okay but very crowded (hard to breathe! >_<) and not much variety on the things being sold. Below are some of the pictures that I've took during the event.
Have a look!

Even as early as 6pm, people are thronging the field.
Stage performance on the middle of the field.

The V.I.Ps watching the show.
The Japanese cultural dance. ^^
People are joining the fun. Come on, let's dance! ^0^
Me & a Japanese gakusei who study in USM. ^^

A Surprise Birthday! ^^

Dear Bloggie,

Today is one of my roommate's birthday. Yesterday me and my another roommate (I have 3 roommates) decided to give a surprise birthday cake to her. Well, we did it successfully but with lots of funny things happened. I went to buy the cake in the afternoon coz I thought she might not be in the hostel since she had class but when I came back and opened the door, I was surprised to see that she's having her lunch in the room. I quickly closed the door and put the cake into a big tote bag, hoping that she wouldn't realise it. She was curious why I didn't went into the room but luckily it didn't led into her suspicion. Hehe.. =p

After that, me and my another roommate started to communicate with each other about how to give her the surprise at 12 a.m by doing all sorts of stupid things like exchanging notes, smsing (ya, although we live at the same room.. lol..) and even sign languages! XD

We pretended as if like we've already forgotten her birthday, so that she will not be suspicious. And our plan really worked! Hurray! > 0 <> _ <)

I could see that she felt happy that night but not as I expected la.. (like teary eye and stuffs like that.. hehe..) This is probably because she have already experienced this kind of surprises before. But anyway, I still feel contented with our "achievement"! Haha.. At least she didn't know it until the moment we bring the cake to her! ^^

We really are good actors. Don't you think? Hehe.. Keeping the cake in the room, the same room that she stays all day long until 12 a.m without her knowing it.. Hahaha..

Hmm.. hope there'll be another birthday surprise to do next time. Really like it. Feels contented when you see how people reacted the moment when they saw the surprise. ^^

Last but not least, here I would like to wish my roommate again...

Selamat Hari Jadi, Jannah! ^^

Why "gagap"?

Dear Bloggie,

One can always know when I'm nervous. Usually when I'm nervous I will start saying things more than once.. like when saying "na ge" in Mandarin (meaning, that one) over and over again. In a more simple term, it is called as "gagap" in Malay (sorry, dunno what it's called in English. don't mind tell me?) Today it happened again... I was nervous and I've lost focus of what I'm going to say. Thus, ended up with the usual gagapness. It is pretty awkward when your speech becomes haywire. It's like you dunno what you are talking about - a total BLURNESS. It always happen to me.. especially when....... Haiz.. why like that neh..? >.<

Well, of course I will not tell the reason here! Hehe.. =p Actually I myself also not quiet sure why.. Besides this is just a bloggie, not a personal diary which I will share all my juicy tidbits in my daily life. So, sorry ya!

K la. I think I have to stop here. Ja ne! ; )
