Driving Lesson

Dear Bloggie,

I've just started my driving lesson last week. Never know that it can be so troublesome. At first I thought all we need to do was just to read the law of the road (undang-undang) and go for a theory test. Then we can straight away start the practical one and head for the JPJ test. Yes. This was indeed what my elder brother went through few years back but now.. it's not like that anymore. Unfortunately due to the increasing number of accidents each year and low civic minded among the younger generation these days (according to one of the "cikgu" in the driving test center), anyone who want to get a driving license must go through these few steps as illustrated below:-

1. Must attend the 5-hours (yes, 5 HOURS!) driving course at a driving test center

  • Must pay RM15 for the course + JPJ Booklet (about undang-undang and stuffs like that) + an Identification Card (yes, a stupid green I.C for getting a driving license! nonsense isn't it?)
  • and NO FREEBIES and MAKAN, SENDIRI PUNYA =,=

2. Sit for the Theory Test

  • Must pay RM10 for the dunno-wat-wat FACE identification digital photo. All you need to do is just sit there and let the official take a photo of you and that's all. Ya, that's all. No, nothing or any exclusive glossy photo of yours being printed and given to you... And you actually need to pay 10 bucks for THAT! The logic here is that whenever people try to cheat using fake or stolen driving license, the JPJ officials can easily identify these people based on the photos available in their database. Okay, I didn't say what they do is wrong but... come on lar... 10 bucks???!!!
  • Must pass the test - that is, scoring > 42 marks out of 50 questions.

3. Attend another 6-hours driving course for FREE! (oh, yeah.. you are near!)

4. Wait for one week (for me lar.. some of my friends said they have to wait for 1 month, so it depends though) and get your pRecious "L" license (ahh.. finally!!! >0<)

5. Now, you can start your driving lesson. (hurray!!! ^0^)

6. JPJ TEST DRIVE

  • If you pass, congrats! But if fail.. you gotta sit for the test again..
  • And if your "L" license has already expired (remember, it's only valid for 2 years period), then bye, bye... you gotta start it ALL over again from step 1 - 6... NO MERCY.

Heh..! Now you know lar why it took me so long to start my driving lesson... But if you have been using your family's car even before you get your "L" license, there should be no problem for you to pass lar. But as for me... I never even touch a steering before!!! How am I suppose to pass leh...? >_<

I've just finished 3 lessons. I've done U-turn, parking, 3-pointer, etc. Now only left driving on the road (4th lesson) before I move on for 2 trials at the JPJ driving test center. Then on the 19th of June, I will have to face the REAL test already (OMG!!! So fast!!! >_<).

Anyway, wish me luck! ; )
